The weekend of music will include Trims’ own Kathy Crinnion. The singer/songwriter has been described as "The Voice of the Century" and was nominated as Best Female at the Irish Country Music Awards.

With well-known radio and TV presenter Theresa Lowe as MC, Frank McNamara on Piano and Kathy will kick off the evening. Together with Special Guests and the Drogheda Orchestra Collective they will play the scores from such memorable movies as Gladiator, The Lord of the Rings, Dances with Wolves, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more.

 

Saturday 22nd features music legend Don Baker and the Drogheda Orchestra Collective with special guest Patrick Bergin (star of Sleeping with the Enemy).

Mike Hanrahan of Stockton’s Wing and Lesley Dowdall of In Tua Nua and Brian Furlong and guests will all play their hits with the Orchestra. As well as Trim’s The Girl Talk.

 

The outdoor seated event will take place in the grounds of Trim Castle. Ireland’s largest, best-preserved and most impressive Anglo-Norman castle is the perfect backdrop to spend a summer night appreciating the best of North East.

 

The fortress was extensively used in the making of the movie Braveheart in which Sean Lawlor played Malcolm Wallace. Sean sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2009. The Sean Lawlor Artists’ Trust is a charity organization that has been set up to help artists who find themselves in need of care or medical attention.

 

‘King John’s Summer Prom’ is a non-profit event with all proceeds going to the Trust and other local charities, such as Meath River Rescue, Trim Red Cross, St Joseph’s Community Nursing Unit and Trim Meals-On-Wheels.
